Gas Purging Wimbledon

Commercial Gas Testing, Purging & CP16 Certification

Our Services

What does it involve?

Atlas Gas delivers commercial gas testing, purging, and CP16 certification for businesses, contractors, and property owners in Wimbledon. Whether gas needs to be introduced into a newly installed system, reinstated following construction works, or safely removed as part of decommissioning linked to alterations, strip outs, or demolition, our qualified engineers manage the process from start to finish while ensuring all current regulations are followed.

Testing and purging are key steps in confirming that a gas installation is safe before it is either commissioned or permanently taken out of service. When new pipework has been installed, or existing pipework has been altered, a strength test is carried out first to check the overall integrity of the system. Once this stage has been completed, a tightness test follows to make sure there are no leaks before gas is introduced into the pipework.

Pipework Testing and Purging Wimbledon

After testing has been completed and the results confirmed as satisfactory, controlled purging procedures are carried out to either introduce gas into the pipework or remove it, depending on the requirements of the project in Wimbledon. Purging is performed carefully in appropriate locations, well away from potential ignition sources, and follows recognised procedures to ensure gas is dispersed safely.

All testing and purging work is undertaken in accordance with IGE/UP/1 (IGUP1) guidance and current industry best practice, with safety considered at every stage of the process. Where necessary, Atlas Gas also provides CP16 Gas Safety Certificates, confirming that the installation has been properly tested, purged, and commissioned in line with the relevant regulations.

How Our Gas Purging Engineers Help

Many clients are unfamiliar with gas procedures, particularly when work is being carried out on operational sites or as part of building removal projects. For that reason, we aim to keep the process simple and well organised. Our team explains each step in clear, straightforward terms, coordinates the work where necessary, and completes it in a way that helps reduce disruption as much as possible.
